About Me

Hi! My name is Tosin, I am a 20-something year old woman in love with writing! I write a lot about life and the (mis)adventures it takes me on.Through God's love and mercy I am being sculpted into His image and as I go through that process, I write them down in the hopes that it inspires, encourages and motivates somebody.

I fell in love with words at a really young age and by the time I was 3 years old, I started reading all by myself! I was born in Nigeria, and back then (like today) the power supply was very unstable, so I would read late into the night often by candle light, which did not help my eyesight at all, but I have no regrets.

I loved books so much to the point were I got teased by my peers and family. During breakfast/lunch/dinner I could be found at the dining table shoving my food around my plate, paying no attention to the conversations happening around me while engrossed in a book. Later on, I realized that since most of my childhood was spent on various adventures within the numerous books I read, I totally skipped out on some core social interactive skills required for basic communication with other humankind..so I can be a little awkward sometimes..

My family relocated to Europe when I was 11, so I spent my teenage years in the Netherlands and the bulk of it in Norway. This experience took me on a different adventure that I never would have seen coming growing up in Nigeria. All of a sudden I was dealing with new issues, like race, culture blending etc.. In this time, I found that reading and writing (among other things) helped me to escape a lot of the issues I did not understand and could not address on my own.

Finally, I moved to Alberta, Canada where I completed my bachelors degree. I like to say that I was born in Nigeria, raised in Norway and I am growing up in Canada because my time in uni helped me step out of my comfort zone and just live! I am now having those conversations I missed out on as a child and learning to incorporate my love for reading and writing with my passion for hearing people's stories and mixing them up in the hopes of creating something beautiful.

You may have noticed I write a lot about God and that is because I have found one thing to be true and constant in all of my (mis)adventures so far, and that is his unconditional love for me. As I am learning to look at life through His lenses, I find inspiration and hope in every circumstance.

Someone once told me, depression is looking at the world and seeing more darkness than light, delusion is seeing more light than darkness while redemption is seeing darkness replaced with light. It's easy to get depressed when I look at the world, and I don't want to be deluded. So just like God changed my heart, I live my life committed to that same redemptive change happening in the hearts of others and it is my prayer that I am able to give every inch of my life and plans to living out his purpose for creating me. I hope to love, comfort and extend the same grace he has given me, to you through this blog.

If you have any questions, comments or just feel like saying something nice, please feel free to contact me. Let's talk :) God Bless.

"God’s grace has a drenching about it. A wildness about it. A white-water, riptide, turn-you-upside-downness about it. Grace comes after you. It rewires you. From insecure to God secure. From regret-riddled to better-because-of-it. From afraid-to-die to ready-to-fly. Grace is the voice that calls us to change and gives us the power to pull it off".-Max Lucado
